Graduation

Dr. Joseph Rooney presided over his first Irish American University Graduation Ceremony as the new president on Wednesday, October 17th. The class of 2018 enjoyed musical interludes by the Performing Arts students under the direction of Deidre Masterson. The key note address was delivered by Congressman Thomas J. Rooney, brother of the president. Dr. Rory McEntegart presided over the commencement while Dr. Gerald Kean served as acting Chairman of the Board filling in for Seamus Mallon.

The newly reinstated Honors Convocation was also part of the ceremony honoring the students who reached a high level of academic performance over the past year. Together, graduates and honorees celebrated their accomplishments culminating in a reception after the ceremony directed by student intern, Sonya Valadi.
